Harry’s Ocean Bar & Grilles is seeking friendly, energized and hard-working assistant restaurant managers to join our management team. Assistant Restaurant Manager are responsible for leading the Front of House staff, during their shift, to ensure excellent restaurant operations are being followed and achieved.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead each shift by delegating duties, assigning specific tasks and ensuring team members are prepared for each day
  • Responsible for the training and development of team members
  • Contributes to a team environment by recognizing and reinforcing individual and team accomplishments
  • Follow inventory control procedures and guidelines
  • Follow operational policy and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety/security, to ensure the safety of all teams members and guests during each shift
  • Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge
  • Must proficient in front of house operations of the restaurant in order to help where ever needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the restaurant and ensure proper set up and breakdown of the restaurant including dining room, restrooms, server stations and bar.
  • Work as a team to prepare restaurant for each shift
  • Ability to manage time effectively while meeting all job responsibilities
  • Maintains a positive work environment for team members and guests during each shift
  • Greet guest to make them feel welcome and comfortable
  • Ensure that team members prepare food items according to standards of quality, consistency and timeliness
  • Follow sanitation and safety procedures
  • Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Excellent guest service skills required
  • Must be able to take direction and delegate responsibilities
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Team oriented, adaptable, dependable, and strong work ethic

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Customer service-oriented attitude
  • Ability to work independently, as well as lead, manage, and motivate a team
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and stay cool under pressure
  • Analytical skills and a solid understanding of business management practices andn strategies
  • Keen problem solver eager to tackle challenges in an organized and strategic manner
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required. An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • 3+ years of experience working in a restaurant environment
  • Candidates with prior experience as a manager are preferred
  • Proven track record of providing excellent customer service
  • Willing to work nights and weekends
  • Physically able to wipe down table tops, chairs, and booths; able to pick up debris from floor; able to carry 25 or more pounds; able to push vacuum or mop
  • Physically able to stand and move during the length of shift; able to bend and kneel through shift
  • Familiarity with restaurant POS software a plus (Digital Dining / Micros)
