Yes, the holiday season is bound to look a little different this year, but Christmas in Cape May is much the same. As always, the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts and Humanities put together an excellent selection of seasonal events for your holiday enjoyment! While some Cape May Christmas events have been either postponed or canceled, most are scheduled as usual and offer tremendous holiday fun for the whole family. Here’s what’s coming up this year.

Stay up-to-date with Harry’s Ocean Bar & Grille news!

Holiday Tree-lighting Ceremony | November 21

Kick-off the holidays in Cape May with a spectacular tree-lighting ceremony. Just as in years past, Santa and his elves have decorated the Physick Estate with festive lights and holiday tinsel. Enjoy a free performance by the Atlantic Brass Band and cheer on Santa as he lights the tree!

Physick Family Christmas House Tour

Christmas is the best time to visit the Physick Family Estate, dressed up in Victorian Christmas glory. On this tour, walk through the family home, enjoy a unique living history with Physick family members, and visit the Old-fashioned Christmas exhibit at that Carroll Gallery. It’s an amazing Dept. 56 Dickens Village under a giant Christmas tree.

Ghosts of Christmas Past Trolley Ride

Enjoy a ride through Cape May’s festively decorated Historic District as a member of the East Lyn theatre company dazzles you with ghost stories of Christmases past. Rides start at the Washington Street Mall Information Booth, except on November 21, when rides start at the Physick Estate. Reservations are strongly recommended. Trolleys are open-air so please bring warm clothes!

Evening Yuletide House Tour

Take a 30-minute guided tour of the first floor of Cape May’s 1879 Emlen Physick Estate, decorated in authentic style for a Victorian Christmas. See how the Physick family would have entertained for the holidays. Afterward, visit the Carriage House for a visit to “An Old-Fashioned Christmas” exhibit.

Dickens of a Murder

This year, Ebenezer Scrooge is a changed man! So much so, in fact, he’s been giving his money away! His nephew, Fred Sawyer, is hosting a holiday party where everyone is delighted to see Scrooge. But when things go awry, and a Murder is committed, guests (like you) must work together to solve the mystery, or else be labeled suspects. It’s a Dickens of Murder. BAH! HUMBUG!

A Dr. Physick Christmas Tour

Join Dr. Physick on this enchanting tour of his Cape May home. He’ll point out Victorian decorations and tell stories about his family and friends at Christmas. Dr. Physick looks forward to welcoming you to his home!
