You may have heard Harry’s Ocean Bar & Grille and Montreal Beach Resort are under new ownership. Madison Resorts, a locally owned hospitality management company, acquired both earlier this month. What does that mean for you?

Harry’s Cape May Under New Ownership

The things you love most about Harry’s and The Montreal will stay the same.

Look forward to great food, your favorite cocktails, and even more live music this summer at Harry’s. We’re also working on an updated menu with new dishes prepared with locally sourced ingredients – to compliment your favorites – and a refreshed Cape May entertainment lineup that includes even more music and fun summer games.

Additionally, as part of the acquisition, Montreal Beach Resort will undergo several renovations, including an upgrade to the lobby and its 69 guest rooms. The planned updates will be modest and retain the identity of the beloved oceanfront property. Think sophisticated Miami Beach meets fresh and open Jersey Shore.

Also new this season will be room service from Harry’s to Montreal Beach Resort guest rooms. Beach and pool service will continue to operate as usual.

Madison Resorts

Madison Resorts is helmed by industry veteran Dan Alicea, who has a track record of revitalizing other East Coast resorts.

“Operating a hotel with deep roots in Cape May is “a childhood dream coming true”, said Alicea. Alicea and his wife were born and raised in Cape May County.

“We are humbled and honored to the Hirsch family for putting their trust in Madison Resorts,” he added in a statement. “We are committed to delivering exceptional guest service and ensuring we hold the community first in our heart.”

Harry’s is in good hands with Alicea. He holds upward of 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry and previously served as hotel operations manager and beverage casino service manager at the old Showboat Hotel and Casino; director of food, beverage and nightlife at Harrah’s Philadelphia; and director of food and beverage at Icona Resorts, according to his LinkedIn profile. Most recently, Alicea was COO at Vivamee Hospitality, the entity behind Renault Winery in Egg Harbor City.

So, look forward to a refreshed and renewed Harry’s Ocean Bar & Grille and Montreal Beach Resort this spring and summer. We don’t expect operations to be delayed, so it’s business as usual this season. We’re so excited to welcome you back. More updates coming soon.
